Our Wines

At Bodegas Aguirre Winery and Vineyards our philosophy is to produce award winning wines that are a true expression of the unique terroir of our estate.  We believe in hand crafting each varietal with a minimum of intervention to let the wines shine through in their purist form.  We mature our wines with minimal filtering while using only the highest quality French and America oak.

Red Wines

Cabernet Savignon
2012, 2013 and 2014

Our Cabernet Sauvignon delivers complex aromas of dark cherry, plum, cassis, hints of vanilla along with light herbal notes. The palate delivers long lasting, multi-layered flavors of cherries, plums and cassis. The wine’s medium body takes the fruit flavors long into a harmonious finish balanced by softly integrated tannins.

Our Merlot reveals aromas of ripe dark cherries, cinnamon, cedar, forest floor, and leather. On the palate, these wines offer a medium body with an excellent balance between the fruits and the acidity.  Hints of oak mingle with the soft tannins that carry through to a medium long finish.

duo classico

Duo Classico is a perfect 50/50 blend of our best reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and reserve Merlot. The complex aromas permeate right out of the glass showing exotic spices reminiscent of All Spice and Five Spice, while engaging you with sweet vanilla notes, cherries, & toasted almonds, all enhanced by lovely oak aging. The palate reveals flavors of ripe fruits and mature tannins that make up the plush, round mouthfeel. There is an exceptional balance between the fruit, the acidity, and the soft vanilla oak notes that all culminate in a very long lasting finish.

The unique blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 20% Petite Sirah make up one of our most popular wines ever. This wine exhibits a pronounced nose of dark berries, blue berries, hints of mint, potpourri, floral notes, and a delightful spiciness from oak aging. It’s a structured wine with long lasting and firm tannins. On the mid palate, one can taste multifaceted flavors of cherry, blackberry, cassis, mint, herbs, pepper, and lightly toasted oak. The medium to full body carries through to a medium long finish showing balance and grace.

castello novo

Castello Novo, also known as the “Wedding Wine,” is a serendipitous blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Zinfandel that we first made in 2001. It has such a wonderful array of flavors that it has become one of our most sought after wines. The nose and palate generously offer aromas and flavors of ripe dark cherries, wild blackberries, cinnamon, plum, cedar, forest floor, and hints of vanilla with softly integrated tannins leading to a long, smooth finish.

Our Malbec is made from French clone grapes, with an emphasis on flavors and aromas of red and black berries with spicy notes and smooth sweet tannins. Full bodied and cellared 15 months in French and American oak barrels.

petite verdot
2012 and 2013

A dark red color with complex aromas and flavors sets our Petite Verdot apart. with bright aromas of ripe blueberries and plum, this wine has well balanced tannins and a long lingering finish. Estate grown and blended with 15% Malbec for enhanced taste experience.

Petite sirah
2012 reserva

The first thing you will notice is the classic, unmistakable Petite Sirah nose that literally jumps out of your glass. Intense aromas of blackberries, blueberries, spiciness, cedar, tobacco, cigar box, and saddle leather all mingle together forming a gorgeous bouquet. The palate does not disappoint. This wine has remarkable balance – the fruit and the acidity elevate the senses while this full bodied wine finishes in perfect harmony.

2012, 2013

In Spain, most of the red wines produced in the regions of Rioja and Ribero del Duero are made with Tempranillo grapes. Loyal to our ancestry we have produced a wine that emulates the qualities found in them: Full body, deep dark ruby color, flavors of berries, vanilla, leather, and integrated oak.

touriga nacional

This wine was produced with estate grown gapes of this Portuguese varietal that grows very well in our valley. Our Touriga Nacional is known for its lighter body, soft fleshy tannins, yet with a firm acidity thus making it a good pairing with lighter meats and fowl.
